| | | Emergency preamble. Whereas, Acts of the Legislature do not become | | effective until 90 days after adjournment unless enacted as | | emergencies; and |

| | | Whereas, to ensure the appointment of an additional member to | | the Board of Dental Examiners, it is necessary that this Act | | take effect immediately; and |

| | | Whereas, in the judgment of the Legislature, these facts | | create an emergency within the meaning of the Constitution of | | Maine and require the following legislation as immediately | | necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and | | safety; now, therefore, |

| | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows: |

| | | Sec. 1. 32 MRSA §1071, first ¶, as amended by PL 2001, c. 260, Pt. B, | | §1, is further amended to read: |

| | | The Board of Dental Examiners, established by Title 5, | | section 12004-A, subsection 10, and in this chapter called the | "board," consists of 8 9 members, appointed by the Governor as | follows: five six members of the dental profession, one | | dental hygienist, one denturist and one representative of the | | public. |

| | | Emergency clause. In view of the emergency cited in the | | preamble, this Act takes effect when approved. |
|
| | | This bill increases the number of members of the Board of | | Dental Examiners from 8 to 9 by adding a 6th member of the | | dental profession. |
