Sec. 1. Department of Public Safety required to report to Joint Standing Committee on
Transportation. Resolved: That the Department of Public Safety shall
report monthly, beginning January 1, 2004, to the Joint
Standing Committee on Transportation the following
information:

 
1. The number of commercial trucks stopped by the
Department of Public Safety, Bureau of State Police, by
region;

 
2. The reason for stopping each commercial truck or
category of defect found on each commercial truck; and

 
3. The origin and destination of the shipment each
commercial truck is hauling.

 
SUMMARY

 
This bill requires the Department of Public Safety to make
monthly reports, beginning January 1, 2004, to the Joint
Standing Committee on Transportation. The report must include
the following information:

 
1. The number of commercial trucks stopped by the
Department of Public Safety, Bureau of State Police, by
region;

 
2. The reason for stopping each commercial truck or
category of defect found on each commercial truck; and

 
3. The origin and destination of the shipment each
commercial truck is hauling.
