Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 8 MRSA §382-A
is enacted to read:
§382-A.__Theft of tickets from agent
An agent is not required to pay the commission for lottery
tickets stolen from the agent's establishment if the theft is
reported to the director within one business day.
SUMMARY
This bill states that a lottery ticket agent does not have
to pay for stolen lottery tickets if the theft is reported to
the Director of the Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery
Operations in the Department of Administrative and Financial
Services within one business day.
