Sec. 1. Increase emergency assistance. Resolved: That by January 1, 2004
the Department of Human Services shall adopt rules to increase
to $400 a year the amount of money that is allowed to needy
families with children under the department's program of
emergency assistance provided in the Maine Revised Statutes,
Title 22, section 3761. The rules adopted pursuant to this
section are routine technical rules as defined in Title 5,
chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.

 
SUMMARY

 
This bill directs the Department of Human Services to
establish rules to increase to $400 a year the amount of money
that is allowed to needy families with children under its
program of emergency assistance.
