Sec. 1. 24-A MRSA §4315 is enacted to read:

§4315.__Receipt from enrollee

Beginning January 1, 2004, before reimbursing a provider of prosthetic equipment, a carrier shall obtain a written receipt for delivery of the prosthetic equipment from the enrollee or a representative of the enrollee.__The superintendent shall adopt rules to implement this section.__Rules adopted pursuant to this section are routine technical rules as defined in Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.

SUMMARY

This bill requires written receipts for prosthetic equipment for reimbursement by health carriers beginning January 1, 2004. It provides for rulemaking by the Superintendent of Insurance.
