| If a person drives under the influence of methadone and |
| causes an accident due to impairment from the methadone and |
| that accident results in the injury or death of a person, then |
| the facility that provided the methadone to the person is |
| liable for damages proximately caused by the person's |
| consumption of methadone.__A district attorney may also charge |
| a facility liable under this section for criminal offenses |
| under Title 17-A, section 203, 207 or 208, notwithstanding the |
| provisions of Title 17-A, section 203, subsection 1, paragraph |
| C, subparagraph (1). |
