Sec. 1. 5 MRSA §10006 is enacted to read:

§10006.__Time limit

Within 7 business days of receiving an application for a license, an agency shall approve, deny, conditionally approve or conditionally deny the application in writing, if the decision does not involve an adjudicatory proceeding as defined in section 8002, subsection 1.__If the application is denied, conditionally approved or conditionally denied, the agency shall provide a brief description of the reasons for the agency's decision.__If the application is conditionally approved or conditionally denied, the agency shall provide a final approval or denial in a timely fashion in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.

SUMMARY

This bill requires agencies that issue licenses to approve, deny, conditionally approve or conditionally deny an application for a license within 7 days of receiving the application, if the decision does not require an adjudicatory proceeding.
