| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows: |
|
| | Sec. 1. 5 MRSA §12004-I, sub-§57-C, as reallocated by RR 1995, c. 2, | §9, is repealed. |
|
| | Sec. 2. 12 MRSA §6078, sub-§1, as repealed and replaced by PL 1995, | c. 609, §2, is repealed. |
|
| | Sec. 3. 12 MRSA §6078, sub-§3, as repealed and replaced by PL 1995, | c. 609, §2, is repealed. |
|
| | Sec. 4. 12 MRSA §6078, sub-§4, as corrected by RR 1995, c. 2, §21, | is repealed. |
|
| | Sec. 5. 12 MRSA §6078, sub-§7, as corrected by RR 1995, c. 2, §22, | is repealed. |
|
| | Sec. 6. 12 MRSA §6078, sub-§8, as enacted by PL 1995, c. 609, §2, is | repealed. |
|
| | Sec. 7. 12 MRSA §6080, as amended by PL 1999, c. 156, §5, is | repealed. |
|
| | Sec. 8. Salmon Aquaculture Monitoring, Research and Development Fund refunds. By | July 1, 2004, the Commissioner of Marine Resources shall | identify those persons that, since January 1, 2001, have paid | money into the Salmon Aquaculture Monitoring, Research and | Development Fund, established under the Maine Revised | Statutes, Title 12, former section 6078, subsection 1, and | refund on a pro rata basis to those persons the unexpended | balance of the fund. |

| | By January 1, 2005, the Commissioner of Marine Resources | shall report to the joint standing committee of the | Legislature having jurisdiction over marine resources matters | regarding the disposal of the unexpended funds. |
|
| | Sec. 9. Effective date. Those sections of this Act that repeal the | Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, section 12004-I, subsection | 57-C and Title 12, section 6078, subsections 1, 4, 7 and 8 and | section 6080 take effect July 1, 2004. |
|
| | This bill repeals the Salmon Aquaculture Monitoring, | Research and Development Fund, including the 1¢ per pound fee | on whole fish harvested paid by the salmon aquaculture | industry, and requires the commission to refund any remaining | balance in the fund to persons who have paid money into the | fund since January |
|
|
