Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §7463-A, sub-§4-B is enacted to read:

4-B.__Emergency; transfer to subpermittee.__The commissioner may by rule allow a subpermittee or alternate subpermittee under subsection 4-A to hunt as if that subpermittee or alternate subpermittee were the permittee if the permittee is unable to hunt under the permit due to emergency circumstances.__Rules adopted pursuant to this subsection are routine technical rules as defined in Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.

SUMMARY

This bill gives the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife authority to allow a subpermittee or alternate subpermittee on a moose permit to hunt as if the subpermittee or alternate subpermittee were the permittee when emergency circumstances prevent hunting by the permittee.
