| | | Sec. 1. 36 MRSA §6206, as enacted by PL 1987, c. 516, §§3 and 6, | | is amended by adding at the end a new paragraph to read: |

| | | For purposes of this section, "income" does not include any | | funds received by a claimant from a national association of | | organizations and professionals dedicated to promoting the | | dignity, self-determination, well-being and contributions of | | older persons. |

| | | This bill provides that funds received from the National | | Council on Aging may not be included in determining income for | | purposes of eligibility for the so-called "circuit breaker" | | program. |
