| Currently, public high school students labeled as "gifted |
| and talented" are enrolled in the honors classes and advanced |
| placement classes offered by their high schools. This bill |
| proposes to clarify that the existing honors and advanced |
| placement curricula serve to meet curriculum requirements for |
| educating gifted and talented students, thus obviating the |
| need for high schools to create an additional separate |
| curriculum for such students. |
