Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 10 MRSA c. 229
is enacted to read:
CHAPTER 229
CONSUMER TRANSACTIONS
§1500-M.__Payment period
The period for a consumer to pay a bill relating to a
consumer transaction for goods or services may not be less
than 30 days.__The 30-day period begins 3 days after the bill
is postmarked by the United States Postal Service.
SUMMARY
This bill allows consumers 30 days to pay a bill relating to
a consumer transaction for goods or services.
