Sec. 1. Department of Education to disclose effect of income factor on general purpose
aid. Resolved: That, when the Joint Standing Committee on
Education and Cultural Affairs considers school funding
options for fiscal year 2003-04 and fiscal year 2004-05, the
Department of Education shall include on spreadsheets the
effect of eliminating the income factor from the proposals.

 
The spreadsheet analysis must demonstrate for each school
unit the effect of using comparative property wealth as the
sole distribution variable without giving weight to an income
factor.

 
SUMMARY

 
This resolve directs the Department of Education to disclose
in spreadsheet format the effect of eliminating the income
factor from the General Purpose Aid for Local Schools funding
formula.
