3.__Categorical education funding.__A charter school is exempt from the restrictions normally associated with any state-funded categorical education funding program.

§2421.__Leased space

A school administrative unit may lease space or sell services to a charter school.__A charter school may lease space from another public body, nonprofit organization, private organization or individual.

§2422.__Transportation

A charter school is entitled to receive a per-pupil allocation for transportation costs as part of its program funds.__A charter school shall offer transportation, whether through agreements with local school districts or other arrangements.

§2423.__Initial costs

A chartering authority may authorize a charter school before the applicant has secured space, equipment or personnel if the applicant indicates authorization is necessary for it to raise working capital.

§2424.__Information

The department shall disseminate information to the public directly and through chartering authorities on how to form and operate a charter school and on how to enroll in charter schools once they are created.

§2425.__Charter school fund

The department shall establish a fund to obtain resources to support activities related to developing an effective charter school program in the State.__Activities may include, but are not limited to, supporting the Impact Aid Fund established in section 2419, subsection 6, maintaining charter school offices within the state board and the department, assisting charter schools to acquire and renovate facilities, planning grants for potential organizers and planning grants for chartering authorities.
