(5)__Such other matters as justice requires.

Penalties collected by the commission under this subsection must be deposited in the General Fund.

SUMMARY

This bill replaces provisions of law that authorize the Public Utilities Commission to issue penalties for noncompliance with various laws and orders with provisions that treat administrative penalties consistently throughout the statutes. The bill establishes the conditions under which the commission may issue administrative penalties and the maximum penalty levels and considerations the commission must take into account when determining penalty levels.
