| The purpose of this bill is to ensure that severance pay is |
| paid to the former employees of Great Northern Paper Company, |
| which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on January 9, |
| 2003. This bill would require that Inexcon Maine, Great |
| Northern's parent company, pay severance pay in accordance with |
| the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 26, section 625-B to the former |
| employees of Great Northern Paper Company. |
