| Sec. 1. Secretary of State to review model legislation. Resolved: That the |
| Secretary of State shall review the model legislation proposed by |
| the joint task force of the National Association of Secretaries |
| of State and the International Association of Commercial |
| Administrators to prevent fraudulent filings under the Uniform |
| Commercial Code against public officials or by individuals |
| attempting to file liens against themselves to try to avoid |
| taxes, judgments or other debt. Based on that review, the |
| Secretary of State shall submit an assessment of that model |
| legislation, together with any proposed implementing legislation, |
| to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having |
| jurisdiction over judiciary matters no later than January 15, |
| 2005. Following receipt and review of the report, the joint |
| standing committee is authorized to report out a bill to the |
| First Regular Session of the 122nd Legislature. |
