| (1)__The demarcation of the areas with the shortened season | follows recognizable physical boundaries, such as | rivers and railroad rights-of-way; |

| (2)__The determination is made and published prior to June | 1st of any year; and |
|
| (3)__The Saturday preceding the first day of open season on | deer is an open day for residents of the State only. |
|
| C.__The commissioner may terminate the open season on deer | at any time in any area if, in the commissioner's opinion, | an immediate emergency action is necessary due to adverse | weather conditions or severe hunting pressure. |
|
| D.__Whenever a section of the State is closed to hunting by | proclamation of the Governor during the open season on deer, | the commissioner, after the proclamation has been annulled, | with the consent of the Governor, may extend the open season | for deer hunting in that section of the State for a period | not to exceed the number of days lost. |

| | 1.__Vinalhaven; open season.__There is an open season on deer | in the Town of Vinalhaven, and the islands within the confines of | the Town of Vinalhaven, to conform with the open season on deer | for Knox County. |
|
| | 2.__Southport; open season.__There is an open season on deer | in the Town of Southport, and the islands within the confines of | the Town of Southport, to conform with the open season on deer in | Lincoln County. |
|
| | 3.__Closed season.__Except as provided by rule pursuant to | subsection 4, there is a continual closed season on deer in the | following places: |

| B.__Cross Island in Washington County; |
|
| C.__Scotch Island in Washington County; |
|
| D.__The Town of Isle au Haut and the islands within the | confines of the Town of Isle au Haut in Knox County; |
|
| E.__All of Swans Island in the Town of Swan's Island in | Hancock County; |
