GENERAL LICENSE AND PERMIT PROVISIONS

 
SUBCHAPTER 1

 
LICENSES AND PERMITS; ELIGIBILITY, ISSUANCE

 
AND REQUIREMENTS

 
§10751. Application and license specifications

 
1.__Form. The commissioner shall furnish application blanks,
licenses and permits in such form as the commissioner may
designate.__The department may charge a fee of up to $10 to cover
administrative costs for the issuance of miscellaneous licenses
and permits for which a fee is not provided by law.

 
2.__Identification number. The commissioner may require an
identification number and any other pertinent information on any
licenses or permits issued by the department as the commissioner
determines necessary.

 
3.__Statement of right to possess firearms.__The department's
applications for licenses and permits that authorize a person to
hunt with a firearm must include the following statement signed
by the applicant:

 
I CERTIFY THAT EITHER I AM NOT A CONVICTED FELON OR THAT I AM A
CONVICTED FELON WITH A PERMIT TO CARRY A FIREARM.__BY MAKING
FALSE STATEMENTS ON THIS DOCUMENT, I REALIZE I AM COMMITTING A
CLASS D CRIME PUNISHABLE UNDER MAINE LAW.

 
4.__Stamps.__Whenever a license or permit to hunt is in the
form of a stamp, the licensee must affix the stamp to the
licensee's hunting license and validate it by signing the
licensee's name across the face of the stamp.

 
5.__Preissue. A license or permit may be issued prior to the
date upon which it goes into force.

 
6.__Duplicates.__A duplicate license or permit may be obtained
by a person who has accidentally lost or destroyed a license or
permit issued to that person under this chapter upon payment of a
fee of $2, all of which must be retained by the agent.

 
7.__License must be signed.__A license issued by the
department must be signed by the licensee prior to use.
