| The projected cost to fund this study is $7,280 in fiscal year 2003-04. This bill as amended includes an allocation of Other Special Revenue funds in that amount to fund all costs of the commission. Although this legislation states that General Fund expenses may not be incurred by the commission, if outside funding is not received the payment of per diem and expenses for legislative members and printing and postage will be paid from the General Fund. These costs are estimated to be $2,480. The Legislature has budgeted $30,000 in fiscal year 2003-04 for legislative studies. Whether that amount is sufficient to fund all studies will depend on the number of studies authorized by the Legislative Council and the Legislature. | ||||||||
| The additional costs associated with serving on the commission can be absorbed by the Department of Education, the Department of Human Services and the Department of the Attorney General utilizing existing budgeted resources. | ||||||||
