Requiring
lifetime probation for certain sexual offenders will require additional
probation officers at the Department of Corrections to deal with the added
workload beginning in fiscal year 2005-06.
The exact impact can not be determined at this time since it is
unknown how many probation officers will be required. The cost of an additional probation
officer at the Department of Corrections is estimated to be approximately $75,000
annually. |
