Fiscal Detail and Notes
If this constitutional amendment is approved by the voters, it will result in cost savings to the Legislative Budget of $66,432 in fiscal year 2004-05, $45,530 in fiscal year 2005-06 and $68,476 in fiscal year 2006-07.  The Legislature will also require a General Fund appropriation of $400,000 in Fiscal year 2003-04 to conduct the required redistricting.

The Secretary of State's budget includes sufficient funds to accommodate one ballot of average length for the general election in November. If the number or size of the referendum questions increases the ballot length, an additional appropriation of $8,000 or more may be required.
