| This bill provides partial funding for a Maine-Canada Trade Ombudsman position within the Governor's Office of the Executive Department. The appropriations shown above for fiscal years 2003-04 and 2004-05 reflect the amounts in the bill. The $35,187 amount was taken from LD 2008 introduced during the 120th Legislature and which reflected the cost of a partial year. If the appropriations are revised to provide adequate funding for the ombudsman position with an effective starting date of October 1, 2003 the amounts needed would be $77,409 for fiscal year 2004-05 and $108,373 for fiscal year 2004-05. The projected costs for the subsequent biennium shown above are based on these higher amounts. | |||||||
