Fiscal Detail and Notes
The repeal of the fingerprinting requirement for teachers and school employees will result in the deappropriation of General Fund monies provided to the Department of Public Safety for this purpose; the amounts that will be deappropriated will be $294,000 and $392,000 in fiscal years 2003-04 and 2004-05, respectively.
Repealing the law requiring background checks and fingerprinting of school employees will result in minor savings to the Department of Education.
