The repeal of the
fingerprinting requirement for teachers and school employees will result in
the deappropriation of General Fund monies provided to the Department of
Public Safety for this purpose; the amounts that will be deappropriated will
be $294,000 and $392,000 in fiscal years 2003-04 and 2004-05, respectively. |

Repealing
the law requiring background checks and fingerprinting of school employees
will result in minor savings to the Department of Education. |
