| This bill revises the definition of average final compensation such that no reduction will be experienced for the days without pay required for state employees during the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2002. This change will require the Maine State Retirement System to calculate the average final compensation to include earnings where no employee or employer contributions have been paid. This bill will result in an increase in the Maine State Retirement System's unfunded liability in an amount that can not be determined at this time but will need to be funded by the State. | |||||||
