The
Secretary of State's budget includes sufficient funds to accommodate one
ballot of average length for the general election in November. If the number
or size of the referendum questions increases the ballot length, an
additional appropriation of $8,000 or more may be required. |

If
approved by the voters, this bill will result in savings to the Legislature
in amonts that can not be determined at this time. The level of potential savings would depend on the salary paid
to legislators, the number of staff that will be needed to support the
Legislature, how many times the Legislature would be called in and convened
at other times and whether committees would be required to meet more often or
on a regular basis during the interim. |
