Fiscal Detail and Notes
The Department of the Secretary of State will need additional Highway Fund allocations of $23,893 and $21,136 in fiscal years 2003-04 and 2004-05, respectively, for half of the costs of a half-time Attorney position.  The bill stipulates that the other half of the costs of the half-time position must be covered by the newly established Maine Motor Vehicle Franchise Board.  Therefore, the board will need Other Special Revenue funds allocations of the same amounts for the same fiscal years.
The bill also establishes new dedicated fees to be collected by the Maine Motor Vehicle Franchise Board; the estimated amounts are $89,850 and $119,800 in fiscal years 2003-04 and 2004-05, respectively.
