Fiscal Detail and Notes
This bill creates the Interstate Compact for Juveniles, concerning juveniles who are on probation or parole.  It is estimated that the Department of Corrections will incur costs of approximately $12,000 annually for association dues and $5,000 annually for transportation of Department of Corrections staff to required meetings.  Also, there is a provision in the compact that includes one legislator as a member of the Interstate Compact for Juveniles.  The cost of the per diem and expenses for one legislative member for one meeting is estimated to be $105.  The number of meetings required is not known.  No funding is required at this time because the compact becomes effective and binding only upon enactment by no fewer than 35 states.  It can not be determined when this will occur.
