Fiscal Detail and Notes
By reducing the maximum number of allowable registered slot machines from 1,500 to 50, this amendment does the following:
It reduces General Fund appropriations by $1,165,426 in fiscal year 2004-05 and reduces General Fund revenues for that same year by $1,700,057;
It reduces Other Special Revenue Funds allocations by $3,557,255 in fiscal year 2004-05 and reduces dedicated revenues for that same year by the same amount; and
It reduces Fund for Healthy Maine revenues  by $1,426,404 in fiscal year 2004-05 .
If the maximum number of allowable registered slot machines is restored to 1,500 through the results of the proposed referendum, then the fiscal impact identified for Committee Amendment "A" will be delayed for approximately 6 months; the exact fiscal impact can not be determined at this time.
