| | | Sec. 1. 36 MRSA §851 is enacted to read: |

| | | §851.__Reimbursement to volunteer firefighters and emergency |

| | | medical services personnel |
|
| | | A municipality may by ordinance adopt a plan for reimbursement | | of a portion of the property taxes paid by volunteer firefighters | | and emergency medical services personnel to that municipality. |
|
| | | This bill permits a municipality to adopt a plan to reimburse | | volunteer firefighters and emergency medical services personnel | | for a portion of property taxes paid to the municipality by those | | volunteers. |
