| | | Sec. 1. 25 MRSA §2011, sub-§5 is enacted to read: |

| | | 5.__Government property.__Nothing in this section limits the | | power or authority of any state agency, department, political | | subdivision, county, municipality, quasi-municipal corporation or | | special purpose district to regulate the possession of firearms | | on public property. |

| | | This bill explicitly authorizes all public entities, including | | those with jurisdiction over civic centers, hospitals, | | universities, libraries, schools and municipal offices, to | | regulate the possession of firearms on public property under | | those entities' jurisdictions. |
