Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §6722, as amended by PL 2001, c. 272, §14, is further amended to read:

§6722. Closed areas

Unless modified by regulation rule adopted under section 6171- A, it is unlawful to fish for or take scallops in the territorial waters from April 16th to November 30th, both days inclusive; except that, for persons fishing pursuant to a license issued under section 6703, it is unlawful to fish for or take scallops in the coastal waters from April 16th to October 31st, both days inclusive.

SUMMARY

This bill changes the beginning of the noncommercial scallop diving season from December 1st to November 1st.
