Item 1

Sec. 1. New signs. Resolved: That the Department of Transportation
shall consult and work with greater Augusta industries and the
Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce before erecting directional
signs. After consulting with the area groups, the department
shall erect signs to assist drivers to determine the best routes
available to business services and to Route 3 and Route 17 to
Belfast, Camden and Rockland. Signs for Exit 109 must describe a
"business route" with specific amenities, such as lodging and
food. Signs for Exit 113 must indicate Rockland-Camden access on
Route 17. Signs are also to be placed on Route 3 and Route 17
from the coast to greater Augusta to indicate the best access to
the highway and what amenities drivers can find.

SUMMARY

consult with greater Augusta industries and the Kennebec Valley
