Sec. 1. 29-A MRSA §1753, sub-§1-A is enacted to read:

1-A.__Inspection required at time of sale.__Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection 4, a trailer or semitrailer used with a commercial vehicle must have a valid inspection sticker at the time of sale or the seller shall give a notice to the buyer that the vehicle needs to be inspected.

SUMMARY

This bill requires that at the time of purchase a trailer or semitrailer must have a valid inspection sticker, or the buyer must be given notice that the trailer or semitrailer needs to be inspected.
