| | | Whereas, paper companies play an important role in Maine's | | economy; and |

| | | Whereas, the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation | | adopted rules effective January 15, 2005 pertaining to the Office | | of Licensing and Registration, Board of Boilers and Pressure | | Vessels; and |

| | | Whereas, these rules have an adverse effect on the paper | | companies in the State; and |
|
| | | Whereas, in the judgment of the Legislature, these facts create | | an emergency within the meaning of the Constitution of Maine and | | require the following legislation as immediately necessary for | | the preservation of the public peace, health and safety; now, | | therefore, be it |

| | | Sec. 1. Rule suspension. Resolved: That the Department of Professional | | and Financial Regulation shall suspend recently enacted rules | | pertaining to repairs and alterations to boilers and pressure | | vessels that took effect January 15, 2005. |

| | | Emergency clause. In view of the emergency cited in the preamble, | | this resolve takes effect when approved. |

| | | This resolve requires the Department of Professional and | | Financial Regulation to suspend recently enacted rules pertaining | | to the Office of Licensing and Registration, Board of Boilers and | | Pressure Vessels. |
