Maternal and Child Health 0191

 
Initiative: Provides funding to increase the number of newborns
screened for hearing loss who receive early intervention
services. The activities include hospital-based screening,
central tracking and referrals for comprehensive diagnostic
testing and services. Capital equipment purchase of screening
and diagnostic equipment will establish and enhance the capacity
of birthing hospitals and local audiology clinicians to screen
and diagnose infants. This purchase will be supported by federal
grant funds.
