Sec. 1. 29-A MRSA §504, sub-§6 is enacted to read:

6.__Rental commercial motor vehicle.__An owner of a commercial motor vehicle used for rental purposes primarily in this State must register that vehicle according to this section if the vehicle is used and payment is made for the rental in this State and the vehicle is rented for construction or road maintenance use, regardless of where the owner of that rental vehicle has the owner's business main office or headquarters.

SUMMARY

This bill requires the registration in Maine of all construction and road maintenance vehicles being rented in Maine for operation on public ways.
