Sec. 3. 22 MRSA §1580-A, sub-§6, as enacted by PL 1985, c. 126, is amended to read:

Sec. 4. 22 MRSA §1580-A, sub-§7, as amended by PL 2005, c. 338, §6, is repealed.

SUMMARY

This bill repeals the provisions of the Workplace Smoking Act of 1985, as amended by Public Law 2005, chapter 338, that allow members of a private club to vote to allow smoking in that club. This bill also clarifies that an employer may not discriminate against a person, including refusing to hire that person, because that person assisted in the supervision or enforcement of the Workplace Smoking Act of 1985.
