Sec. T-1. Department of Corrections; lease-purchase authorization; variable speed
drives. Pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, section
1587, the Department of Administrative and Financial Services, on
behalf of the Department of Corrections, may enter into financing
arrangements in fiscal year 2006-07 for the acquisition and
installation of energy-saving devices, such as variable speed
drives, for Department of Corrections facilities. The financing
agreements may not exceed 5 years in duration and $2,400,000 in
principal costs. The interest rate may not exceed 7% and total
interest costs may not exceed $720,000. The annual principal and
interest costs must be paid from the appropriate All Other line
categories appropriations in the affected Department of
Corrections accounts.

 
Sec. T-2. Department of Corrections; lease-purchase authorization; occupancy sensors;
energy-efficient windows. Pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title
5, section 1587, the Department of Administrative and Financial
Services, on behalf of the Department of Corrections, may enter
into financing arrangements in fiscal year 2006-07 for the
acquisition and installation of energy-saving devices, such as
occupancy sensors and energy-efficient windows, for Department of
Corrections facilities. The financing agreements may not exceed
10 years in duration and $1,200,000 in principal costs. The
interest rate may not exceed
