The Secretary of State's budget includes sufficient funds to accommodate one ballot of average length for the general election in November. If the number or size of the referendum questions increases the ballot length, an additional appropriation of $8,000 or more may be required.  A special election would require an additional appropriation of $121,392.
Fiscal Detail and Notes
The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will need an additional General Fund appropriation of $28,132 in fiscal year 2006-07 for the costs of providing a boater safety education program.  These costs include $17,000 for one-time start-up costs including purchase of 4 personal watercraft, $8,008 annually for personal services and $3,124 annually for mileage, fuel and miscellaneous expenses.
