This amendment decreases the future cost to the Unemployment Compensation Benefit Account within the Department of Labor by $3,526,000 in fiscal year 2008-09.
The bill, as amended, includes Other Fund allocations of $2,016,000 in fiscal year 2005-06 and $3,326,000 in fiscal year 2006-07 to the Unemployment Compensation Account within the Department of Labor for the additional cost of continuing to provide unemployment benefits to persons who are not available for full-time work under certain circumstances until September 30, 2008.
The bill, as amended, will not impact the unemployment contributions schedule based on projections developed using the Consensus Economic Forecasting Commission Forecast of October 2004.  The State and all other direct reimbursement employers will be required to repay the Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund for additional benefit payments in the current biennium.
