| Fiscal Detail and Notes | |||||||||
| The University of Maine System may require additional General Fund appropriations beginning in fiscal year 2005-06 associated with implementing the requirements of this bill. The University estimates the cost to be approximately $14,000 in fiscal year 2005-06 and $7,000 in on-going costs beginning in fiscal year 2006-07 for training library staff and increased number of staff hours at the information and circulation desks to ensure compliance with this legislation. The ability of the University of Maine System to absorb these costs without impacting existing programs and services can not be determined at this time. | |||||||||
| Additional costs to the Maine State Library, the Law and Legislative Reference Library and the Maine Maritime Academy associated with providing existing information to parents or legal guardians of a minor upon written request can be absorbed utilizing existing budgeted resources. | |||||||||
