The Secretary of
State's budget includes sufficient funds to accommodate one ballot of average
length for the general election in November. If the number or size of the
referendum questions increases the ballot length, an additional appropriation
of $8,000 or more may be required. A
special election would require an additional appropriation of $121,392. |

|
Beginning
in fiscal year 2005-06, the establishment of the State of Maine Animal
Response Team Fund within the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural
Resources will require an initial annual Other Special Revenue Funds
allocation of $500. The current
wording of the bill does not authorize specific revenue sources which can be
collected by the fund. |
