| This legislation authorizes the Legislature to record legislative sessions, requires the Law and Legislative Reference Library to maintain the recordings and establishes a fund to carry out the recording and archiving. Authorizing the Legislature to receive money from any source may result in the collection of Other Special Revenue funds. A base allocation of $500 in each fiscal year should be included in the bill in the event outside funding is received for this purpose. The initial setup costs for equipping the chambers with basic cameras and recording equipment and providing the Law and Legislative Reference Library with the capability to archive the recordings is estimated to be approximately $45,900. Annual operating costs are estimated to be approximately $1,700. There are other potential costs that can not be determined at this time and will be dependent on whether any unplanned improvements and modifications may be required as a result of the installation of the cameras and recording equipment. | |||||||||
