| This bill will increase dedicated revenue to the Maine Hazardous Waste Fund within the Department of Environmental Protection by $394,725 in fiscal year 2006-07 and $418,450 annually thereafter. The projected revenue is derived from increased fees for the transport and disposal of hazardous waste and a proposed new fee for the registration of biomedical waste generators. The additional requirements of this legislation will be carried out with existing staff and resources and no additional allocations are needed at this time. | |||||||||
| LD 1968, the Governor's proposed supplemental budget, includes a General Fund appropriation to the Maine Hazardous Waste Fund of $200,000 in fiscal year 2005-06 and $480,981 in fiscal year 2006-07 for the response to clean up hazardous waste releases. | |||||||||
