projected cost for four legislators to serve as members of the ongoing Maine
Food Policy Council is $1,680 annually beginning in fiscal year 2006-07. The Legislature's budget includes $20,000
in fiscal year 2006-07 for legislative studies. Whether that amount is sufficient to fund
all studies will depend on the number of studies authorized by the
Legislative Council and the Legislature. |

State's budget includes sufficient funds to accommodate one ballot of average
length for the general election in November. If the number or size of the
referendum questions increases the ballot length, an additional appropriation
of $8,000 or more may be required. A
special election would require an additional appropriation of $121,392. |

establishment of an Other Special Revenue Funds account within the Department
of Agriculture, Food and Rural Resources may result in increased revenue
collected by the department as well as increased expenditures; the amounts
