An Act To Link Sewer Extension Funding to Comprehensive Planning
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 30-A MRSA §4349-A, sub-§1-A is enacted to read:
1-A. State investment in sewer line extension. Notwithstanding subsection 1, the State may make an investment in an extension of a sewer line only if the extension is consistent with a comprehensive plan adopted in accordance with the procedures, goals and guidelines established in this subchapter.

This bill implements a recommendation of the Community Preservation Advisory Committee. The bill provides that the State may invest in a sewer line extension only when the extension is consistent with a comprehensive plan.
