An Act To Prohibit the Surgical Removal of Vocal Cords in Dogs
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 7 MRSA §4011-A is enacted to read:
§ 4011-A. Prohibition on removal of a dog’s vocal cords
A person may not remove or have removed a dog’s vocal cords except as treatment for a medical condition. A person may not remove or have removed a dog’s vocal cords solely to eliminate barking.
