An Act To Prohibit Sex Offenders from Areas around Schools
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 17 MRSA §2873 is enacted to read:
§ 2873. Sex offender prohibited areas
A person required to register under Title 34-A, chapter 15 may not be present within 250 yards of a public or private elementary or secondary school or preschool facility. A violation of this section is a Class D crime.
