Amend the bill in Part C by inserting after section 6 the following:

Sec. C-7. 32 MRSA §59-B,  as enacted by PL 2001, c. 285, §1, is repealed.

Amend the bill in Part Q by striking out all of sections 1, 3 and 5.

Amend the bill in Part Q in section 11 in section §3824 in subsection 1 in the first line (page 78, line 15 in L.D.) by striking out the following: " or cause to be evaluated"

Amend the bill in Part Q by striking out all of sections 13 and 14.

Amend the bill in Part Y by striking out all of section 6 and inserting the following:

Sec. Y-6. 32 MRSA §9909, sub-§1,  as amended by PL 1999, c. 257, §4, is further amended to read:

1. Renewal.   A license expires annually on September 30th or such other time as the commissioner may designate. Notice of expiration must be mailed to each licensee's last known address at least 30 days in advance of the expiration of the license. The notice must include any requests for information necessary for renewal.

Licenses may be renewed up to 90 days after the date of expiration upon payment of a late fee of $10 in addition to together with the additional late fee and renewal fee as set under section 9911. Any person who submits an application for renewal more than 90 days after the licensing renewal date is subject to all requirements governing new applicants under this chapter. In addition, the board may assess penalties for renewals more than 90 days after expiration.

Amend the bill by relettering or renumbering any nonconsecutive Part letter or section number to read consecutively.

summary

This amendment removes sections of the bill that propose to clarify licensure and scope of practice language for psychologists and psychological examiners and also removes language that clarifies that the scope of practice for psychologists and psychological examiners may not be construed to permit the practice of medicine. The amendment also includes a minor conforming language change to the section regarding dietician license renewals.
